Shallow Brook Farms is located in Alton, Ontario, approximately 45 minutes from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport. Alton is a lovely small community in the North end of Caledon, and our farm on the aptly named “Highpoint” Sideroad has a lovely view of rolling hills, green paddocks and distant woods.
Hanoverian Horses: Our band of mares bring forward the best bloodlines in the Hunter, Jumper and Dressage ring, and were either imported themselves or by top stallions standing in Europe. All are from proven sport horse bloodlines, chosen for their performance abilities and superior conformation for sport. We are a small breeding operation focusing on quality young horses. Hanoverian horses for sport are proudly offered for sale; we focus on foals but are planning to keep a few more youngsters to develop in the coming years. Our mares are Holsteiner or Hanoverian, and all are approved for breeding with the Hanoverian verband, where we register our foals.
Our farm’s rolling pastures are the perfect playground for raising up strong, supple youngsters, as nature intended. With large pastures, safe fencing, shelters and heated water all our horses live outside, year-round. They thrive in a natural environment, with grazing or free access to forage at all times, our foals develop into hardy, healthy, young horses.
Shallow Brook Farms’ commitment to environmental stewardship includes working with the CVC to help naturalize areas of our farm; providing wildlife habitat, protecting water quality and creating buffer zones. We are a family farm – this is a labour of love, and we thank-you for your support!
